Dr Asad completed his MBBCH at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1995 and received various scholarships including the Anglo-American Chairman’s Fund scholarship, University scholarship and MESAB scholarship.
Dr Asad completed his Internship at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg and entered General practice where he completed his Fellowship in Family Practice from the college of medicine of South Africa. Dr Asad then spent a year as a Registrar in Anaesthetics and completed a Diploma in Anaesthesia. He then registered as a specialist family physician in South Africa.
Dr Asad is a keen researcher and was involved in Clinical trial research across wide range of disease entities, Dr Asad has special interests in chronic disease management including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and asthma, as well as research, skin cancer, exercise and ageing.
